I thought I would share this funny cycling video with everyone. Some really weird looking bikes in this video. Believe it or not I get some that look like a few of these in my shop. I am going to have to start adding pictures of the bikes I get to repair here on the blog. Most are pretty "normal" but I do get a few real oddballs.

Today I have to put on a couple of tires and rebuild an old Roadmaster, not real exciting stuff, but it is kind of fun to make something that doesn't work now start working again.

Of course in this area we are keeping a watchful eye on Isaac. The shop is open and we do expect to get some wind and rain out of Isaac. It is sprinkling rain now and the wind has picked up a little. Albany is making plans to take on a bunch of those that may be dispalced by the storm

Yesterday I received an old Roadmaster 18 Speed 24" Bike that needs some work like brakes and cables but has the major parts. I will probably fix that up and give it to my youngest grandson Kevin. I also received a nice blue dual suspension bike that needs some brakes and shifters, the paint looks good, so I can turn it into a decent bike, actually it will end up a better bicycle than when it was new. The reason I say that is when I refurbish an inexpensive bike like that I almost always have to put better components on it than when it was new. I don't have a distributor that sells the low grade parts that are usually found on department store bikes.

Breakfast of Champions?

Did you have a good breakfast today? I sure did, Spaghetti and Meatballs and extremely good spaghetti and meatballs at that. Not exactly what you would call "Breakfast Food" but it made for a great breakfast. Reminds me of something I heard someone tell me many years back when someone asked them what was the Breakfast of Champions. The answer the person was looking for was of course Wheaties Cereal as that was there big advertising by line at the time. The person answered back "Whatever I had for Breakfast this morning. I am sure that John Di Lemme the coach of Champions would agree.

Got a short ride on the bike in this morning with Ruth. I will probably try to get another ride in this afternoon before we start getting rain, after I get some work done in the shop, and of course I get to test ride the bikes I work on, so should get a few miles in there.

I almost forgot our oldest son Scot turned 40 yesterday and I turned his name in to the Radio Station here in Moultrie today. He won the Birthday Club thing they do so in the morning we have to go by and get his stuff that he won. Sounded like a pretty neat group of items on the Radio this morning.

Have to head out to the shop, got word that the tires arrived, so can get them on the bike and give the man a call, and also get one of both of the bikes I picked up yesterday running.

If you happen to be around Albany Georgia on September the 8th, Come by the Parks at Chehaw and ride with us at the annual Nut Roll. Numerous routes available. I will probably take the 30 Mile or the 42 mile ride to kind of prime me for the race on the 19th. I have got to get some more training in anyway and that is a good way of getting it.

Funny Bicycle Stuff

Hi Everybody:

How are you all doing today. Just thought I would share this video with you feel free to share it with your friends. I found it pretty funny since I do indeed repair bicycles.

Actually I find it interesting and fun to repair bicycles. Today is Sunday so the shop is not officially open but I had one that I repaired last evening that I took back to the owner. Sometimes I will lend a bike to someone that I know well like this customer. He took a bike yesterday and I repaired his last evening. I took his bike back to him and he told me the man across the street from him was looking for a new bike. The man across the street had two old frames basically, not really operational bikes. i gave him a good deal on the used Murray that I had loaned the regular customer. It seems my regular customer list keeps growing. I have people that are regular customers in all areas of the town as well as a few other towns around the area. They range from people on fixed incomes to Doctors, Attorneys, High School Football coaches and several preachers.

In fact a rather strange thing happened just today. We have not been going to church regularly since we have the 2 handicapped boys and it had been very hard to find a church that really fit our family. I think we found one now, but it will take a few more trips to be sure. The funny thing that happened though is that we went to the church and while several people spoke with us and welcomed us, one person came up said he had been to the house and thanked me for showing him some bikes. he said he had actually stopped at the shop last week and put a deposit on a bike. I knew right away exactly which bike and sort of remembered him dropping by the house. I did not realize he was a minister.

I head for the Nut Roll September 8 as a warm up ride for the Golden Olympics. The Golden Olympics will be held in Grovania on September 19th and 20th. I will then head for Vienna to ride in the Big Bike Ride.

Have to get some heavy duty training in it's all about performance

bikes and helping people

Today was a rather unusual day for us here in Moultrie. I rode my bike to the bike shop and was just going to get some part numbers, organize some stuff and head to the house. One of my regular clients came in while I was there and needed some work done on his bike. Ruth, the boys and I had made plans to go to Reed Bingham State Park with the Grandkids, so I told him I would work on it this afternoon and gave him another bike to use until I got his fixed.

I went home and we loaded up the van with picnic stuff, stuff for the boys and a bike for Jason and Kevin. Just as we were getting in the van we received a call from our daughter saying they had changed there mind and were going to the campgrounds in Arabi. That changed our plans considerably so I went back to the shop to fix the bike. The bike needed new bearings in the bottom bracket as well as a new crank. The bike had been hit by a car so really that was not bad.

As I am writing this the bicycle is in the back on my van, I drove over by the man's house but no one would answer the door, so I left my card for him to call.

What do you like about this subject?

I pretty much like just about everything about this subject especially the way you feel after a good workout, and the difference a good trainer can make in their clients lives.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

The field is constantly improving and more and more knowledge about fitness and nutrition is added into the field every day. There are many new supplements, as well as techniques to learn about. I hope that I can help at least 100,000 people to better bodies and better health through newsletters, books, Q and A sites or whatever method.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Probably the most interesting thing to me is that the more you use your body (to an extent) the better it becomes. That is if you feed it properly and give it the rest it needs to recover, it actually comes back stronger each time.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Probably the most controversial or provocative thing about fitness and nutrition is the use of Steroids and the use of various supplements. Personally I choose to recomend only a multivitamin to my clients until they have achieved a good nutrition program and a soild exercise foundation, then they may add some other supplements at their disgression and is usually determined by the client's goals

Social Security and bike store

A person brought in 3 bicycles and wanted to trade 2 of them is to get a set of tires on the 3rd. I checked out the bikes, they were all dirty and had sit for quite some time, but probably in a Garage or inside somewhere. The gears worked but the bikes needed some lube, chains all checked as good.

I could not pass up a deal like this, The man said that two of the bikes were his daughter's bikes but they had outgrown them several years ago and the other bike was his. He had not ridden in several years but wanted to start back up and wanted some new tires to start with.

I placed the tires on order and got the other 2 bikes cleaned lubed and priced. I also checked the web and the Police Department to make sure these bikes had never been reported stolen. Everything came back good, so we will sell the 2 bikes and put new tires on his bike. He gets FREE tires and we get 2 more bikes to sell. Looks like a deal where everybody wins.

The Book Store/Bike Shop had its Grand Opening and ribbon cutting. The people from the Chamber of Commerce came out, took photos and looked over the store. There was a little more business than usual but not much. David Warburg and I went over and picked up a refrigerator for the store. I worked on a couple bikes. cleaned and organized the shop some and one of our regular customers showed up.

He said he had been hit by a car on his bike, there was a large dent in the frame, and the crank was extremely loose. I checked the crank and it was working so I tightened that up and Robert (the customer) looked through some catalogs to find some stuff he wanted for his bike. He said the accident had happened about 3 days back and that he had been in the hospital for a couple days. He was not hurt bad, but they did want to keep him for observation after the wreck.

He placed an order for about 110.00 worth of items, and I gave him a ride home. I have placed the order with the supplier and Jim will order it Monday.

Saturday

I plan to get up relatively early and head down the bike trail, will try to get in at least 20 miles before breakfast. I am going to race in the Golden Olympics in September and need all the training I can get before then.

Ruth and I plan to meet our daughter, son in law and the grandkids tomorrow at Reed Bingham State Park on the Cook/Colquitt County lines for a picnic. They are going to camp out at the campgrounds there and we are going to join them for a picnic. Jason wants us to also bring one of his bikes, so he can have it to ride in the park.

Once we return from the park we have a great deal of cleaning up to do around the house, so will be busy all weekend.

I received the following email from a friend; you may find it interesting.

WHERE DID THAT MONEY GO?
This was sent to me AND I am forwarding it because it does touch a nerve in me.
Remember, not only did you and I contribute to Social Security but your employer did, too. It totaled 15% of your income before taxes. If you averaged only $30K over your working life, that's close to $220,500. Read that again. Did you see where the Government paid in one single penny? We are talking about the money you and your employer put in a Government bank to insure you and I that we would have a retirement check from the money we put in, not the Government. Now they are calling the money we put in an entitlement when we reach the age to take it back. If you calculate the future invested value of $4,500 per year (yours & your employer's contribution) at a simple 5% interest (less than what the govt. pays on the money that it borrows), after 49 years of working you'd have $892,919.98.

If you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $26,787.60 per year and it would last better than 30 years (until you're 95 if you retire at age 65) and that's with no interest paid on that final amount on deposit! If you bought an annuity and it paid 4% per year, you'd have a lifetime income of $2,976.40 per month.

Another thing with me.... I have two deceased husbands who died in their 50's, (one was 51 and the other one was 59 before one percent of their social security could be drawn. I worked all my life and am drawing 100% on my own social security). Their S.S. money will never have one cent drawn from what they paid into S.S. all their lives.

THE FOLKS IN WASHINGTON HAVE PULLED OFF A BIGGER PONZI SCHEME THAN BERNIE MADOFF EVER DID.

Entitlement my foot, I paid cash for my social security insurance! Just because they borrowed the money for other government spending, doesn't make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!

Remember Congressional benefits? --- free healthcare, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days. Now that's welfare, and they have the nerve to call my social security retirement payments entitlements?

We're "broke" and we can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, or Homeless. Yet in the last few months we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile and Turkey. And nowPakistan ......home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed S.S. income' receive no additional federal aid nor do they get any financial breaks, while our government and religious organizations pour hundreds of billions of $$$ and tons of food to foreign countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives, and now, when it's time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place? It was supposed to be in a locked box, not part
of the general fund.
Sad isn't it?

Bike Shop Grand Opening August 24,2012

Tomorrow will be the Grand Opening of Christian Books & More here in Moultrie, Georgia. The store is actually a combination of two stores. Jim Soos operated Books & More on the square in Moultrie for about 12 years. Bonnie Giles operated Christian Books etc in the Sunset Plaza for several years. The 2 stores have now came togther and are one with the name Christian Books & More.

The Bike Shop was part of the MORE at Books & More and is now part of the More at Christian Books & More. I repair the bikes and sell a few now and then for the store. I will be at the store much of the day Friday to help with stuff about the Bike Shop. If all works out I will be finishing the wall that I started in between talking to customers and repairing bikes. It should be a pretty interesting day.

I was supposed to work out there on the wall some yesterday but things did not work out that way. I got home from work about 7:30 AM and helped get Chris and Scot on the Van then laid down to get some rest before heading out to the shop. The rest did not last long as about 930 Ruth woke me up because the center called and said Christopher's arm and shoulder were swollen they thought he may have fallen.

We picked him up at the center an took him to Colquitt Regional Medical Center ER. They did X-rays and the doctor said he had "Arthritic Changes" from his last set when he had surgery on that shoulder. I ended up getting to sleep about 1 PM and slept until about 7 which made it really too late to go to the shop. I did run out there just to check on things and it looked like things were coming along pretty well. The door had been framed in on the room and several sheets of the paneling had been put up.

So if you are in or near Moultrie stop by the Christian Books & More Store which is directly across from the Farmer's Market now called Packer Produce. See the Bike Shop and the Book Store. There is also a complete Hobby Shop, Art Supply Store and lots of other stuff in the store. You really need to see it to appreciate the large selection.

Bring your bike and we can ride a couple miles together, or if you needs some adjustments or add-ons we may just have what you need. Ask for Jerry or the Bicycle Nut, I should be there much of the day.

Our Marines in action

The people that know me personally know that I am very proud of my military service. I spent 4 years in the US Navy toward the end of the war in Viet Nam and spent 14 years in the Army National Guard starting with the 1/148th inf. in Lima, Ohio, in Texas I served with the Armored Cavalry, in Kansas with the Field Artillery and here in Georgia I served with the 2/121 Infantry Mech.

The unit in Lima earned the motto "We'll do it" when they fought in the Phillipines in WWII, and pretty much embodied that motto, their "sister" company was the Screamin Eagles 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell Ky.

Most people that are non-military think the only thing our military does is fight wars or kill people, but the military is extremely active in peace and social activities, and are always there to "protect and serve" the people of the US.

I received this story a while back about an incident that happened during 911, very little was ever mentioned about it, but this is the type of thing our military does here in the US on a daily basis. The Marines in this story and the thousands of Army, Navy, Air Force, Reserve and National Guard Troops that serve daily do many "little things" that make huge impact. Here is a story about just one of those incidents when our military was at their best.

A Good Story...Worth a read... .

A chaplain ,who happened to be assigned to the Pentagon, told of an incident that happened right after Flight 77 hit the Pentagon on 9/11.

A daycare facility inside the Pentagon had many children, including infants who were in heavy cribs. The daycare supervisor, looking at all the children they needed to evacuate, was in a panic over what they could do. There were many children, mostly toddlers, as well as the infants that would need to be taken out with the cribs.

There was no time to try to bundle them into carriers and strollers. Just then a young Marine came running into the center and asked what they needed. After hearing what the center director was trying to do, he ran back out into the hallway and disappeared. The director thought, "Well, here we are, on our own."

About 2 minutes later, that Marine returned with 40 other Marines in tow. Each of them grabbed a crib with a child, and the rest started gathering up toddlers. The director and her staff then helped them take all the children out of the center and down toward the park near the Potomac and the Pentagon.

Once they got about 3/4 of a mile outside the building, the Marines stopped in the park, and then did a fabulous thing- they formed a circle with the cribs, which were quite sturdy and heavy, like the covered wagons in the Old West. Inside this circle of cribs, they put the toddlers, to keep them from wandering off.

Outside this circle were the 40 Marines, forming a perimeter around the children and waiting for instructions. There they remained until the parents could be notified and come get their children.The chaplain then said, "I don't think any of us saw nor heard of this on any of the news stories of the day. It was an incredible story of our men there. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. The thought of those Marines and what they did and how fast they reacted; could we expect any less from them?

It's the Military, not the politicians that ensures our right to

life,liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's the Military who

salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women, who have served and are currently serving our country, and pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

Local Bicycle Rides

Today is August 22, 2012 it is also Be and Angel Day, so try to be nice to others even if they are not nice back.

There are even really nice antique bikes, so if you happen to be in the area, do drop by. Now let’s get to the real important stuff, Bicycle Rides.

Two Big Rides are coming up here in South Georgiain September. On September 8^thAlbanyGeorgia and the Parks at Chehaw will host the Annual Nut Roll. The Pecan City Pedalers of Albany have put this on for several years now and it is a big event at the park and around the town.

Riders come in from virtually all over theUSto ride in the Nut Roll. This ride is sponsored by the Pecan City Pedalers and usually has about 300 riders and in my humble opinion is one of the best rides in the south. The routes are well marked, even riders from other clubs that sponsor rides have commented on the signage which is well placed and easily read. The ride has enormous support from the community and the money brought in goes to help with things in the park. For several years the money raised was given to the Education department A few years ago the Club decided to help out the BMX Track also located in the park.

The donation from the ride gave Chehaw BMX the seed money to build a new concession stand/office for the track. I believe that some of the money also went to help build and maintain the Mountain Bike trail. The new concession stand/ registration office is a big help to the track. I know the people doing registration are far happier in the new building than the old portable building they used for several years.

If you happen to be in or near AlbanyGeorgiaon September 8^th, you should definitely stop by the Parks at Chehaw and ride with the “Nuts on Wheels” The Pecan City Pedalers of Albany. If you stay around long enough you may also see Team Chehaw, the BMX racers over on the Track. Team Chehaw and Chehaw BMX has riders as young as 4 and as old as 60 that take to the track to race. The turnout for local races is increasing on a regular basis. The track is just down the paved road from where the Nut Roll will start.

The second Ride is the Big Bike Ride over inViennaGeorgia. It is pretty likely that I will be at both rides this year. I usually make the Nut Roll but have in the past had to miss the Big Bike Ride. It is always a disappointment when that happens. I have ridden with the gentleman that is the ride director for the Big Bike Ride and met him at numerous other rides. He usually rides in the Nut Roll and the Tour de Tifton where I furnish SAG for the ride. This should be another excellent ride and I just heard that several people I know are headed that way, so I would love to join them.

In between the Nut Roll on September 8^th and the Big Bike Ride on September 22 I will be heading for Grovania, Georgia where I will test my skills at racing against other 60 year old racers in the Georgia Golden Olympics. Right now I doubt that I could beat some of the 5 year olds on the BMX track as my right leg is giving me fits, but I will head to Grovania anyway. On the Wednesday September the 18^th we will make the trip and I will race theFuji bike in a 5K Time Trial. We will likely find a motel in Perry which is about 5 Miles north of Grovania and stay the night. On Thursday I will race a20 K Road race and then later a 10K TT.

This year is a qualifying year for the Golden Olympics, which means that if I do well I will be heading forCleveland, Oho next August to race in the Nationals. I have qualified before and not been able to go due to the expense. This year it looks as if I qualify I have a really good chance of going to compete since the Nationals are in my home state and not that far fromLima, I could leave Ruth and the kids with here sister in Minster and head over toClevelandfor the race. I could probably stay in a campground nearClevelandor find a Super 8 or other of the less expensive motels.

It would be nice to seeOhioagain. The last time we were there was 2006 to visit Ruth’s sister Sara. My sister, nieces, and nephews still live inOhioand most of Ruth’s family still lives there. It will be HOT at that time of year but maybe the breeze fromLake Eriewill keep us cool, maybe not.

Today August 21 2012 is Senior Citizens Day and with that in mind I think this is very appropriate.

CRABBY OLD MAN

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in North
Platte , Nebraska , it was believed that he had nothing left of any
value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They
found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that
copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Missouri. The old man's sole bequest to
posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News
Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide
presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent,
poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is
now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . What do you see?
What are you thinking . . . . when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, . . . . . not very wise,
Uncertain of habit . . . ... with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food . . . . . ... and makes no reply .
When you say in a loud voice . .. . . "I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice . .. . the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . . . a sock or a shoe?

Who, resisting or not . .. . . . lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding. .. . . the long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking? . . Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse . . . you're not looking at me..

I'll tell you who I am. . . as I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of ten . .. with a father and mother,

A young boy of sixteen . . . . with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . . . . a lover he'll meet..
A groom soon at twenty .. . . .my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows . .. . that I promised to keep.

At twenty-five, now . . . . . I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . and a secure happy home.
A man of thirty . . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . . With ties that should last.

At forty, my young sons . . . have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me . . .. to see I don't mourn.
At fifty, once more, . . babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . .. . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . .my wife is now dead.
I look at the future . . .. . .. shudder with dread..
For my young are all rearing . . . young of their own.
And I think of the years,. and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age .. . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles ... . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . .. . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . . . a young guy still dwells,
And now and again .. . . . my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . .. . gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . .. . open and see.
Not a crabby old man. Look closer .. ... see ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might
brush aside without looking at the young soul within .. . . . we will
all, one day, be there, too!

Obama?

THE WASHINGTON POST HITS OBAMA
Finally, the Washington Post speaks out on Obama! This is very brutal, timely though. As I ' m sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has a reputation for being extremely liberal. So the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. At last, the truth about our President and his obvious socialist agenda are starting to trickle through the “protective wall” built around him by our liberal media.

Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world ' s largest economy, direct the world ' s most powerful military, execute the world ' s most consequential job?
Imagine a future historian examining Obama ' s pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama ' s "spiritual mentor"; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama ' s colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don ' t care if these minority students fail; liberals aren ' t around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin - that ' s affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn ' t racism, then nothing is.
And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.
What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama ' s oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people - conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that ' s when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth - it ' s all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.

Personally I was disillusioned with Barack Obama before he ever became President, so that other people are finally figuring this out does not really surprise me. It does surprise me and make me wonder though, what took so long?
