I actually composed this yesterday the 26th so when I did that it was  Mule Day and Frankenstein Day according to the information I received from our daily calendar maker who is also the keeper of such interesting information and trivia. Kind of neat that we have a Frankenstorm coming in near Halloween and right about the same time as Frankenstein Friday.

Has anyone heard about what Donald Trump did just a couple days ago. He basically offered to write a check or checks totaling 5 Million dollars to Barack Obama’s favorite charity or charities if  Barack would provide certain documentation and have a bunch of records unsealed that have been sealed since the current POTUS took office.

Now if someone was to ask me for my grades at Ohio State or Western New Mexico University and was willing to write a check to my favorite charity I would do it without question, but I would do it even quicker if they offered to write that check to me personally.  But I am not the President and I really have nothing in those records that would cause any problem, I was on the Dean’s List numerous times at WNMU, unfortunately my grades at Ohio State were not near as Stellar, and when I attended SMU (Southeastern Massachusetts University) while in the Navy I did pretty lousy, I sure wouldn’t get mad if Obama had a bad grade or 2, no one is perfect.

I really have no idea why Obama will not do what Trump asks but I would bet that it just won’t happen. What I believe will happen is that the President will simply ignore Trump and the October 30th deadline will come and go and still no one will know anymore about Obama than they do now. That is enough for some and is what I expect. Trump keeps his 5 Million and no one is hurt, except maybe it will cost Obama the election which I feel would be good for the entire country, so in that case we all win. There are plenty of people that disagree with my feelings and based on the polls there are a whole lot that do indeed agree. Will the country be better off with Mitt Romney? I really have no idea, I just can’t see the country standing 4 more years like the past 4 years, no matter if it is “all Bush’s fault”

What I would like to see happen is for Obama to call Trump’s bluff, if it is one and provide the documentation, and I actually hope the documentation is real and verifiable and Trump has to write  that check or checks.  Much of what has been provided by this administration in the past has been either suspect or outright forgeries and so far no one seems to have the guts to stand up and say enough is enough. Take for instance the “long form Birth Certificate that is posted at www.whitehouse.gov. it is a poorly done forgery and even though just about anyone that looks at it can tell, no one seems to be able to or cares to  do anything about it.  The fact that the Birth Certificate is not real does not prove or disprove that the President was born in the US, but it has to make any sane person wonder why? I mean if he was really born in a hospital in Hawaii in 1961 why can’t he just call the Health Department in that County and get a Certified Copy like anyone else would do? If he has nothing to hide, why would he provide such a poor document? I know for a fact that there are people in Chicago that are far better at forging documents than whoever did that one.

OK, enough on the Birth Certificate, I know it is a fake, and just about anyone that is not completely blind when shown it also knows it is a fake, and I believe with all my heart and mind that Obama knows it is a fake.

The thing that really bothers me is that during his campaign in 2008 he over and over promised that his presidency would be “transparent”. I do understand that releasing certain types of information can be harmful to National Security and that releasing certain personal information can be downright embarrassing but for the most part Barack Obama’s Term in office has been the least transparent of any President I can remember either now or from my studies in History.  It would seem to me that his major accomplishment to date is to get about ½ of the voters in the US to believe it is “all Bush’s Fault”

I know there are plenty of people that believe he is Muslim, and there is some evidence that would lead some to believe that. I personally am not sure and really does it matter?  I remember when I was in about the 4th grade and my Dad was so afraid that John Kennedy would be elected because he was a Catholic and if he was to become President the Pope would take over the country. Well Kennedy was elected and the Pope didn’t take over the US and Kennedy turned out to be a pretty decent president, many would rank him up with the best of  Presidents. Kennedy though was a leader and a good leader, a WWII Hero. He was the Captain of a PT Boat that was sunk in WWII, he was an officer and a gentlemen, everything you would want in a Commander in Chief. Kennedy actually used a plan very similar to Paul Ryan’s Budget Plan to get the country on track and put the financial house in some order. Reagan would use a similar plan himself years later.

I remember when Kennedy was shot I was in the 6th Grade, my teacher was Miss Picklesimer and we were all in the cafeteria watching a movie about the “Church of Latter Day Saints” Yep the Mormon Church which is the church of Governor Romney. I have since had numerous opportunities and assignments that had to do with the Kennedy Presidency and each time I grow more impressed with JFK.

The opposite seems to be true of  President Obama, the more I find out about him, the more I study him, the less I feel he is a quality President.

I really was hoping that my bad feeling about our current President was wrong, but it seems this feeling gets worse and worse.  He is quick to take credit for things that seem good but he really has nothing to do with like the killing of Bin Laden, if in fact Bin Laden is even dead. As I recall Bin Laden had numerous “doubles” and the body was disposed of very quickly, just seems a little fishy. On the other hand he is also quick to blame just about anyone else when things go wrong. It is Bush’s fault, it is Hillary’s fault, it is anybody’s fault but his when things are tough. That is definitely not a leader and definitely not a person I want to serve as President of the United States of America.  I will vote this November 6th or before and I can assure you that unless some absolute miracle comes about I will not cast a vote for the current POTUS.
Hope you all have a wonderful day

Meaning of the Flag Draped Coffin

Have you ever wandered why the Honor Guard at a Military Funeral pays very close attention to the way the flag is folded?
I have personally been involved in several military funerals, serving as Paul Bearer and sometimes as Honor Guard, I was also for numerous years a member of the American Legion. I copied this description from their website , but have seen it other places.
I hope you take the time to read this..... To understand what the flag draped coffin really means..... Here is how to understand the flag that laid upon it and is surrendered to so many widows and widowers.
Do you know that at military funerals, the 21-gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?
Have you ever noticed the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the United States of America Flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies, but we learn something new every day!
The 1st fold of the flag is a symbol of life.
The 2nd fold is a symbol of the belief in eternal life.
The 3rd fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world.
The 4th fold represents the weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.
The 5th fold is a tribute to the country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong."
The 6th fold is for where people's hearts lie. It is with their heart that They pledge allegiance to the flag of the United! States Of America, and the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
The 7th fold is a tribute to its Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that they protect their country and their flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of their republic.
The 8th fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day.
The 9th fold is a tribute to womanhood, and Mothers. For it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.
The 10th fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of their country since they were first born.
The 11th fold represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrews eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The 12th fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christians eyes, God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.
The 13th fold, or when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost reminding them of their nations motto, "In God We Trust."
After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for them the rights, privileges and freedoms they enjoy today.
There are some traditions and ways of doing things that have deep meaning. In the future, you'll see flags folded and now you will know why.
Share this with the children you love and all others who love what is referred to, the symbol of "Liberty and Freedom."
MAY GOD PROTECT US ALWAYS.
ONE NATION UNDER GOD, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

Sarah Haskins for Fuji Bikes

The Bike Shop where I repair bikes is a Fuji Dealer and this is one of the racers that Fuji Sponsors. Great Racer.

Fuji's Sarah Haskins capped off a phenomenal season Sunday with her 8th victory of the year at Dallas' Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon, a gutsy victory that clinched her second consecutive series title in the prestigious Race to the Toyota Cup.

Sarah was first out of the water with a 23:44 swim, yet it was Alicia Kaye who stormed into the lead on the frigid 40k bike. But by Mile 3 of the run, an unrelenting Sarah had overtaken Kaye and charged ahead to the finish, breaking the tape with a 17-second margin of victory for a total time of 2:01:17.

In a season that featured both her 4th consecutive Life Time Chicago Tri title and 4th consecutive Life Time Tri Minneapolis title, Sarah dominated nearly every race she entered - going 6 for 7 in Toyota Cup events, collecting 73 points, and winning by an 11-point margin over the best female triathletes in the country.

We couldn't be more proud to be her sponsor, and we would like to wish the 2012 Race to the Toyota Cup Champion a huge congratulations from the Fuji family!

Tour de Tifton and the Debate

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are having a wonderful day and it just keeps getting better as the day goes on. I just got off work at 6:30 this morning and drove home (about a 45 minute drive). and after helping my wife get our two handicapped boys (actually young men) ready for the van to Green Oaks Center will try to get some stuff done before getting a little shut-eye.
Did you watch the debate last evening. I thought it was much better than the 1st one, still they are politicians, both of them, so how much can you really believe of what either says? I guess we will see which one is more believable on November 6th.
If you have a chance check this out
Today is October 17, 2012 and it is Pasta Day. That reminds me that the Tour de Tifton is coming up April the 6th 2012. So why would today being Pasta Day remind me of the Tour de Tifton? Maybe it is because the past few years when we return from the ride we have each year been treated to a fine Spaghetti Dinner.
The Tour de Tifton was started back in 2010 by my friend Dr. Bret Wagenhorst. . I have been involved in the ride each year since it was started and each year has been an improvement on the year before.  Bret has built a team of volunteers that keep coming back each year along with some sponsors that have been involved since the very beginning and they have done an excellent job.
The Tour de Tifton is a Bicycle Ride not a race and it is supported by several rest stops manned with volunteers where riders can get water and snacks as well as SAG ( Support and Gear) which I try to provide each year. Every pre-registered rider receives a T-Shirt and a goody bag when they arrive at the Tiftarea YMCA on Westover Road in Tifton. The Y is well located near I-75 but far enough away so as not to get all the traffic. Bike rides like this one are best done on low traffic roads and streets whenever possible and Bret’s crew has done an excellent job plotting out some great routes or the various ride lengths.
There is an 11 Mile ride, a 25 Mile Ride, a 62 Mile Ride (Metric Century and the most popular ride) and a 100 Mile Full Century ride for the really daring. All rides have to be completed in 7 hours or less.
The riders and the volunteers seem to enjoy the riding and the routes as well as the support they receive from the community. The ride usually makes about 5-7,000.00 each year which is donated to the YMCA to help with programs for underprivileged Children.
I have a great idea, why don’t you all make plans to join us Saturday April 6, 2013 and ride with us at the Tour de Tifton. I guarantee you won’t find a friendlier group of folks anywhere, you will get a great meal and you will meet a very diverse group of people. If you can’t make it to the ride and would just like to help out the Y, send a check or Money Order mad payable to the Tour de Tifton, you can send it to me or the Y, any amount even 1.00 will be used to help underprivileged children. Can you think of a better cause than the youth of this country? They will be the leaders of this country in just a few years, we need to make sure they have the proper tools to grow healthy and strong as well as have a good value system in place.
Help us help the children and the families of these children.
A story comes to my mind as I write this and I would like to share it with you. A preacher name of Mikki West told it to the Congregation one day when I was in Silver City, New Mexico.
When the tide goes back off the beach after a High Tide there are often Star Fish that are stranded on the beach. The tide carries them in and sometimes when the tide goes back out they are deposited on the beach. If they are left there they will die.
One man took it upon himself to go to the beach near his home, walk along the beach and toss the Star Fish that had been stranded back in the water. One day a young man stopped the older gentleman and asked him why he did that. The younger man commented that there was simply no way he could save all the Star Fish, he was not making a difference.
The old man smiled and threw another Star Fish back in the sea , while replying to the young man “It made a difference to that one”
I know we can’t save all the children and in spite of trying to do the very best we can every child will not grow up to be highly successful businessmen, doctors or lawyers or even factory workers, but we may make a difference to one or two and change their path for the better. Help us and groups like the YMCA try to do just that.
Let’s make a difference to that one.
This ride coming up in April will be dedicated to Ilsa Boyette, a German lady that brought a lot of cheer into the life of everyone she met. Ilsa was a cyclist and a good friend to all. She  lost her battle with Cancer earlier this year. She will be missed.
Have a great day

Fun Bike Ride and Double Commissions

I am far from an Internet marketing Guru, and definitely not in the same category as people like Mike Filsame, Ryan Lee, Mark Hendricks, David Sharpe or David Wood, but every once in a while I find something that works and I make a few bucks. Not long ago I found a program that claimed to pay 80.00 in commission on a 40.00 sale. I could not believe that without checking it out, I mean how could anyone pay 80.00 when the product only cost 40.00?  Does that get your interest?  Sell a product that is in demand and used by most adults for 40.00 and you get 80.00 commission. I can’t give you all the details here, but if you click here it will take you to a site that will get it to you right away.

I went to a bicycle ride in HahiraGeorgia. I know most people that are not fromSouth Georgiathink that Hahira is a fictional town from a Ray Stevens song about the Shriners’ Convention. Hahira is an actual town in South Georgia ( Ray Stevens is from Albany which is less than 100 miles from Hahira} and last Saturday they had the annual Honey Bee Festival which has a Bicycle Ride tied into it. Normally the Honeybee ride is pretty much like most road bike type Charity Rides. This one though had a rather unique twist.

One of the members of the Bike Club inValdostathat rides around Hahira quite often is a young man named Mike. Mike likes to do Cyclo Cross racing. Now if you know about Cyclo Cross you know that is a sort of a bicycle obstacle course with full size multi speed bikes, not single speed BMX bikes and it usually has a longer “track” than BMX. Mike set up a ride called a Road/dirt ride and it was a BLAST.

I can honestly say it was one of the most fun rides I have had in a long time, and I enjoy riding the road bikes, BMX or whatever but this was something new, unique and fun.

While there were about 70 riders, down from the usual 100 or more only 3 of us took that ride, Mike of course, Helga a 70 + German lady and me. Mike was the only one with a true Cyclo Cross Bike. I took my KHS Alite Mountain Bike and Helga rode a slick tired road bike. The route was designed by Mike so Helga and I kept good track of him as even with the Map we didn’t know the back roads that well and did not want to get lost. Mike was kind to us and did not make us work extra hard to keep up, but it was still a challenging and fun ride. 21 Plus miles mostly on dirt and mud with a little sand thrown in here and there and well as some hard packed bumpy roads and a lot of nature. If you have ever been to Fort Stewart Georgia, that is very similar to the terrain in the back woods areas ofValdosta.

We all rode along and talked while we were riding about numerous different things, we would see very few cars except the few miles when we were on pavement. The only place we had to really wait on cars was to get on the final about 1/2 mile stretch to get back to the Industrial Park where we started and finished the ride.

There was also officially a 62 and a 100 mile ride and some folks did an impromptu 32 mile ride that they had done in years past.

At the end of the ride we all sit around talking about the different rides and eating pizza. Everyone seemed to have a great time, several old riding pals were there since Hahira is not far fromMoultrie. I passed a bunch of flyers out for the Tour de Tifton coming up in April and then headed back home. Got home about 2 PM

Just as I left the Complex I received a phone call from a young man that had brought 2 bikes in to the shop to have the front derailleur upgraded. I told him I had the parts in stock and would probably get them done Monday or Tuesday. He said he was not in a big hurry and just to call him when they were done.

Sunday afternoon I drove over to the shop and changed out the derailleur on each bike upgrading them from the Shimano Sora to the Shimano Tiagra triple on the front. The shifting immediately improved and they were not even completely adjusted.  We had the grand kids Monday and had to visit the doctor and do a bunch of other stuff Monday and Tuesday, I was able to get one finished today and hopefully can get the other done tomorrow. My schedule is rather odd, I work 7 nights straight, then have 1 day off and work one “evening” then have 5 days off, then start all over. It gets me 40 hours a week and shift differential, plus having the 5 days off in a row gives me some good time I can spend with the Grand Kids.

Have a Great day.
