Fuji's Sarah Haskins capped off a phenomenal season Sunday with her 8th victory of the year at Dallas' Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon, a gutsy victory that clinched her second consecutive series title in the prestigious Race to the Toyota Cup.
Sarah was first out of the water with a 23:44 swim, yet it was Alicia Kaye who stormed into the lead on the frigid 40k bike. But by Mile 3 of the run, an unrelenting Sarah had overtaken Kaye and charged ahead to the finish, breaking the tape with a 17-second margin of victory for a total time of 2:01:17.
In a season that featured both her 4th consecutive Life Time Chicago Tri title and 4th consecutive Life Time Tri Minneapolis title, Sarah dominated nearly every race she entered - going 6 for 7 in Toyota Cup events, collecting 73 points, and winning by an 11-point margin over the best female triathletes in the country.
