Today is Sunday and the Breathe Run and Family Fun Day at Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia.. With any luck I will be able to get some photos and videos that I can upload here. I did get a few pics and will post later. Unfortunately it rained the entire time of the run and the Breathe Family Walk was cancelled altogether. The pucs are mostly of some of the "kids" doing Karaoke, which was fun to watch. There was also a huge Bouncy House there that a lot of children got to play on, so everyone had lots of fun in spite of the weather. I suppose that a lot of money was raised to help with the various Mega Impact projects and the Breathe Ministry. 

I really would have liked the weather to be better, but that is just the way things go sometimes. I do understand that there will be at least 15 ramps built around Moultrie Georgia by the students from UT.

I am still operating the bicycle repair shop and have received the Gasoline Motor Kit which I will be putting on a bicycle this week. Everything I need is suppose to be in the box except the gas and oil for the engine. 

 In addition to that I have been trying out some Internet Marketing Programs that might make some extra money too. This one only costs 1.75 to join and with very little effort you will soon be in profit and can make about 100,000.00 for it. Don't know about you but if I could make an extra 5000.00 a month which would be 60.000.00 per year then I would consider the business to be extremely successful and if I made 100,000.00 I would be ecstatic to say the least. why don't you join me in the for only 1.75 just click here for details.

Today is Saturday tomorrow Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia will have the Breathe Run and Family Fun Day. This will also signal the kickoff to a program known as Mega Impact. Mega Impact is a wonderful program that is put on by the church with help from other area churches and the University of Tennesee. Over 100 Students from UT will soon be here in Moultrie for about a week. During the time they are here they will dod a lot of work all over the town. This year their concentration will be on building wheelchair ramps for handicapped people all over town. They will also be working on the Breathe Center and numerous other projects while they are here. Last year they worked on numerous projects all over Moultrie and even painted our house and did a lot of other work.

To say we are grateful for having found Heritage would be a considerable understatement, but we are indeed grateful for having been led to Heritage. The Breathe ministry and he people that operate it along with just so many wonderful people in the church have been such a fantastic blessing to our family. 

This year we are facing quite a different challenge. Last year I had a full time job making a good wage, but had a lot of  stress due to medical problems and financial problems and then I lost my job and things looked really bleak, some stuff that was rally good happened though and we were able to come out in better financial shape except that I still did not have a job or an income. I really began promoting the bicycle shop that I had been running part time, but that is still taking more money to operate than is coming in, so I took a part time job which brings in a little money but not nearly enough to survive on. I am not complaining we are all healthy right now and that is a great thing, the amount of stress has been reduced and I feel more like things are looking up.

While we have been able to do a lot over the past few months I can see that we need more income to keep everything going and so have started searching for some business opportunities that I can do from the Internet while I get he bike shop going better. Out with the Old in with the new

Many of you know that I am moving the Bicycle Repair Shop back into Christian Books & More at 1612 1st Avenue SE in Moultrie Georgia. I was in there before Ruth was diagnosed with DCIS. DCIS stands for Ductal Carcinoma in Situ and is a basically a low grade breast cancer. She had to go through 6.5 weeks of radiation and I had to take her back and forth as well as go to work everyday, so I moved the Repair shop to the house. That way I could be closer to my wife if she needed me and I could still fix bikes but I would not be able to be at the store and actually interact with as many of the cyclists. That really was bad since I really love to talk to people and learn from hem and if I can help them, that is even better.

Well she is now finished with treatment and I am no longer working a "job" so I am moving back to the "store" and I have a completely new deal and new setup though it really won't affect the customer much at all. I will actually be renting space in the store and will be the owner of the bicycle shop. I have worked out an arrangement to purchase everything the current owner has and to rent the space. I actually have paid the "rent" ahead 9 months.

Here are some pictures of what it currently looks like at the bike shop, but I think I can make it look a LOT better, I am hoping I can also improve sales since I will now be at the store from 11A-6 P Monday through Friday.

I want to put in some nutritional products like Sport Beans, Hammer Gel and Honey Stingers, and some more lubes and cleaners as well as set up a place where we can professional fit cyclists to their bike.  I also want to build a really nice rack for Bicycle tubes. I have an idea of what I would like, just nee dthe time to build it. I may bring some stuff with me to the shop and build it there, or may do all the board cutting etc at the house and then assemble it at the store.

Here is a bike I built from a frame and deleivered it today. The bike is for a 9 year old racer at Chehaw BMX. It started out as an Avanyt Frame. The frame had been modified several years before, so it was not easy getting the right stuff to build it up. With help from the young rider's father we were able to get parts from Ebay and JR BMX to finish the build. It has Promax head and stem, 24 X 1 1/8" tires and rims, KMC Chain, Man o War Chain tensioners, Carbon fork, clipless pedals, plastic seat and post. Sam was riding it around on the street in front of our house this morning and he really seemed to be very comfortable on the new bike.

I went to get the business license for the "shop" today. I got the application and then went over to have a background check done at the Police Dept. I also filled out a paper for the EIN # and the Georgia Tax #. I am suppose to move in by February 1, 2014 and want to make sure all the legal elemants are taken care of properly before then. Police report was clean, so that is good news, can't remember doing anything illegal.  Should be able to complete the legal aspects Monday. Tuesday I will call the suppliers and get the accounts changed over to my name and set up ACH accounts with the suppliers. 

The electrician is supose to be at the shop tomorrow to change some wiring around and add some more light. That should be nice. I will probably take one of the small refirigerators out there, and maybe get a cheap microwave so I can stay there for lunch some days.  May also try to find a small coffee pot for the shop,, that way if any of you come by to visit then we can sit and have a cup of coffee and talk bikes. 

I am hoping to get a few new things in really soon. I really want to get the tools and traing to do bike fittings, so that will be a priority, then I also want to put in some more lubes and cleanres, and Nutrition products. In the next few days I also plan to set up a website with lots of products related to bicycles and Health and Fitness, Diet and Nutrition and realted subjects. Ther will be a lot more projects on our website than in our store.

Ther will be a small workout area behind the showroom that people can come workout, sort of like a mini gym or a studio. I have a Treadclimber, a MultiGym, and a weight bench with barbell and dumbells that will be placed in that area. This will be available for anyone but will be especially set up for any Chiseled Faith clients that want to use it.  We will be offering a special price of only 10.00 per month per person or 25.00 for a full 12 weeks. I will probably also put a trainer back there where I can put a bike on to "fit"  the rider. When the trainer is not in use for fitting it can be used to hold a bike as a "stationary" bike. I have several bikes that can be used for that. 

You can expect to see many videos coming up on our new youtube channel also, as I have plans for numerous videos, some decsribing the use of various tools that we will be having in the store as well as various lubes and nutritional products. Of course you will see lots of  Tour de Tifton and other ride videos.

It is a beginning

1/7/14

Today I drove out to the shop to talk to Mr. Mills who owns the building where the Bookstore and the Bike Shop will be. He is going to work on getting the electric so I don't have to walk to he front to turn on the lights, and so I can turn the lights on separate from the other lights in the back half of the building.

I am going to have to get a cash register for the store and will have to put up a wall between the bike shop area and the workout area. That wall will be made of Pegboard so I can dsiplay items for sale on it. I am hoping I can add some Nutrition Products to the stuff that is out there now, some more lubes and cleaners, and  a few other itmes that people may want like water bottle holders.

I am also wanting to add bike fitting to the shop.

I am building a 24" BMX Cruiser bike for a person in Albany Georgia and it is looking great. 1 1/8' tires, very lightweight, the stem and headset came in today so I can finish that up and hopefully get it up to Albany this weekend.

Not sure how much I will get to ride with the new shop and stuff going on, but am hoping it is a quite a bit. Once I get everything moved into the new area and arranged as I want it, I will probably ride out there and back quite often.

New Year/ New Opportunity

I Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.


Looking back on 2013 there was plenty of ups and downs. Sometimes it seemed like more down then ups, but we survived and we have actually came through smarter and in much better financial shape than we were at the beginning of 2013.

I won't bother going over all the "bad" things that went on in 2013, but as a family we look forward to what 2014 is promising so far.

We are in the process of expanding our little bicycle repair shop in Moultrie and that is a little scary but also exciting. I will be posting regular updates here as we  progress. Hopefully some video and photo updates as wel ass just written stuff.

Here are some plans for the bike shop

1. The name has been changed to BMG Cycles Plus,, we will be in the back of  Christian Books & More on 2nd Street SE in Moultrie. We will be right inside the back door, so if you come down that way to visit, just come to the back, there is plenty of parking back there (actually more parking in the back than the front). We will be open from 11A-6P Monday through Friday and I should be there most of that time.

2. The "shop" area will be completely redesigned with much more lighting and a lot of new equipment and tools.

3. We will add a line of Nutrition Products for cyclists and athletes ( Probably Hammer Nutrition)

4. We will add a display of Park biucycle tools for those that want to work on their own bike

5. If all works out we will be carrying an American Line of Titanium Bikes from Sage Cycles.

6. The showroom area will be completely redesigned to be more customer feirndly

7. We will be doing professional bike fittings and adding other services as we see a need.

8. expect to see lots of  "specials" and promotions form the Bikes shop during the next 9 months.

Good News and Bad News

Costs keep rising and at least my wages at my regular job have gone way down over the past few years. I make considerably less per year now then I did in 2008. In the past several years I have really been searching for a way to supplement my wages. I helped start a bike shop in Moultrie. The bike shop has done OK and is not losing money, but is not profitable enough to even put back a 10^th of what I have lost in wages and in increases in cost over the same time period.

What is one to do? Well if you are me you look for other sources of income to replace the ones you have lost. I have tried several online businesses in the past and on occasion I have found one that works like it says. You have to expect a little hype from those selling their programs but many times you find ones that just come right out and lie to you without even blinking an eye.  That is why it is so refreshing to find a program that does exactly what they say it does.

First allow me to tell you about at least one company that in my humble opinion you should avoid at all cost. The company is Web.com. This company has a marketing campaign and sales force that is deceptive to say the least. Here is what happened to me, and while some of it is my own fault, the fact is they literally stole money from me and probably from others.

In July of 2012 a salesperson from Web.com called and told me they had heard I was interested is setting up a website for my business. This would have been the bicycle business. I told then I was indeed interested but was not financially able to do anything right then. “Not a problem at all says the sales person we have a “special promotion” we will build your site and a facebook page for your business and you don’t have to pay until 30 days (the salesperson originally said 60 days) after the site is complete and if you are not happy with the site, you won’t owe us one cent.”  

They ask me numerous questions about the business including bank info which when they did I again asked about the FREE TRIAL. I was assured that no money would be taken out of my account until the Trial Period was up. Originally they had said 60 days, but before the person finished talking that had dwindled to 30 days.  Again though I asked specifically about when the money would be drafted form my account since there was very little in the account and that the amount they mentioned would cause an overdraft. I was again assured that the money would not come out until they had built the entire site and that I was happy with their service. Guess what happened less than 48 hours had gone by when the bank called to tell me they had paid an ACH from Web.com for services that I had ordered and it overdrafted the account, could I please put additional funds into the account ASAP.

I called their customer service, which is pretty much a joke and was assured that it was an error and that they would immediately refund the money. I informed them they should definitely refund the money and that I wanted to cancel the entire deal immediately.  I was told they would do that since they had not even begun to work on the site. About a week later I received an email from them stating that the account had been cancelled and they were issuing a refund of the full amount.  A few days later the refund was in my account so I thought they were legit and that everything was good.

I do not use that particular account much, putting small amounts in it now and then and just covering a couple of ACH withdrawals that I had set up and have never changed over to my primary account, so really did not pay a whole lot of attention to the account until I received notice in the mail from the bank that the account was overdraft and got a call from Web.com saying that my website service would be “interrupted” if I did not make the payment. I again called their customer service and explained that I did not have an account with them. The young lady on the phone agreed at first then during the conversation found where someone on their end had reinstated the account and over the past year they had sifted a total of over 1800.00 from my account without my authorization. She said she would process a refund request right away and she actually told me what her company owed me due to the company’s “mistake”.

It has been almost a month now and so far they have refunded about 400.00 of the 1800.00, will not acknowledge that they owe the money and refuse to speak with me on the phone. When I call customer service I am told that the only way to request a refund is to send a request in writing to that department and they give me the email of that department.  They sent me a survey in which I told them again that the service was not acceptable and that they needed to process a refund for the other 1400.00. So far I have heard absolutely nothing about the 1400.00 they still owe me. 

The people that actually are responsible for website design and publishing etc may do a good job, I don’t know, have not gotten past their lousy business practices. I know I should have been more careful and caught this much earlier, but that does not mean they should be allowed to keep money that they had no right to take. I have contacted a couple of attorneys and am told that the amount is really not enough for them to bother with. If I could prove other damages they may be willing to take it on contingency but for this little bit it just isn’t worth their time.

OK then, enough about bad things like Web.com, let’s talk about good stuff.  About a week ago I found a program that I had signed up for months ago and it got stuck on the back burner. With my schedule and the kids and grandkids etc some things just slip through the cracks, so it was with this program. It is called Free and Powerful. Even though that is its name and it is pretty powerful, I am not sure why they try to convince anyone that anything is truly FREE.  There is alway7s some cost though it may not be in money. In the case of this program, you can “join” the program FREE, but you really can’t do anything with it without spending a few dollars. Not a tremendous amount, you can actually make money on it in a very short time, one of the programs allows you to make 20.00 for everyone you give a free debit card to, and they get 20.00 too, so you can make 40-60-80.00 just by giving away a few debit cards. The details are here. I noted a post on the group’s facebook page where one person is only promoting that particular part of the program even though there is quite a bit more. For 10.00 you get a special advertising program to advertise the Free and Powerful Program and that helps you get the word out about the program. Then there a motivational program that you can buy, or not. If you do when someone else buys it from your link you get 27.00, so you only have to get 1 sale to break even. There is an online University with Paul Birdsall , you may have heard of him, he has done quite a bit around the web for several years and has a good reputation.

You don’t have to buy every program all at once, buy what you can afford, promote that and get some cash to buy the others. If you use the Debit card program you end up making 20.00 for each card you give away and everyone should be able to give 10-20 of those away in a very short time, If all the programs cost 200.00 total and you get 200.00 form giving away 10 Debit cards then your cost is indeed 0 dollars so technically I guess they can say it is FREE, even though there is an investment of your time. According to the program directions if you do everything in the right order and do everything you need to do correctly, you should make around 300,000.00 per year. I know that is not the 10,000.00 an hour that some programs would promote, but if I were making 300,000.00 per year, even if I paid 50% in taxes and was able to spend 150,000.00 it would be a good deal more than what I make now and the program parts I have don s far have been actually pretty fun. It does not seem like work at all. Right now I have invested a total of 37.00 out of pocket and have 40.00 set aside to “fund” my debit card. If everything works out after I fund the debit card with 40.00 there will be 60.00 on it. When the friends I have already given card links to fund theirs I will get 20.00 from each of them too so I should have 240.00 on my card when the people that I have given the cards to so far fund their card.  I should get my card in about 5 days, so within 24 hours after I get it, I should have more than twice all the money I paid out back in my account, less than a week and I will be in profit.

I would ask that you do me a favor and at least check the program out at this link, but really you will be doing yourself an even bigger favor, so check it out. There would appear to be some real money to be made with this program, and I fully intend to get a share of it, why not join me and I will do whatever I can to help you make some money too.
