New Job and some other thoughts

June 11, 2014

Bible Verse from Devotional,

12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law; 13 you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. 15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. 16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? 17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. 18 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me. 19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. 20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-- one that brings on misery by its decrees? 21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. 23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.

New Job;

Well I have a new job. I start training June 30, 2014. I will be driving to Marietta Georgia for the training and will be staying there for my first week of training. The second week I will be in the field with a certified trainer. The third week will be back in Marietta and the fourth week back in Valdosta which will then qualify me as an installer and I should then receive my van, tools and supplies to work my territory which I am told will be Omega Georgia.

Funny how that works. I originally applied for the Omega position as there was no Moultrie position being advertised. When the 1st lady from the company called she said that they had a position in Moultrie and was going to put me in for that if it was OK with me. I said sure and went through the entire process thinking I was being considered for Moultrie.. Yesterday another rep from the company called and said I was being offered the position in Omega. I am definitely OK with that.

We plan to head to Valdosta Sunday to pick up some new work boots. I have a good pair of Wolverine boots but they are Brown and black, the company says they only accept plain black boots. I can handle that too. The company will be supplying uniforms, PPE and equipment, tools, van etc. I guess I can get a pair of boots.

The training and the schedule of the new job is going to be hard on the bike shop as I am not going to be there much.  I have been trying to figure out how to keep it open while I train and even afterward. My schedule should be 4 days on 3 days off, but one of those 3 days I will have to go to the warehouse and load up for the next week, so that will mean really I only have 2 days off to work on bikes.  I have been thinking of "hiring" someone to run the bike shop while I am gone and possibly after I return, and have already heard from one person that is interested in this possibility.

I am searching for a person that enjoys cycling and likes bikes, is not afraid to get a little dirty. This person would also have to be good at dealing with people as he/she would be dealing directly with walk in customers. This person would also have to be willing to learn and operate the software I have recently purchased to run the website and would have to be willing to post to blogs, run ads, post to groups etc and make sure the software works correctly. He/she may have to place ads and do other stuff, basically they need to be me while I am gone. I will be available after my "training" shift by phone and will have to be consulted before they can make any major financial decisions for the business.

The pay is not much I will pay a per hour wage plus a commission of a portion of the profit, probably 50% of any actual profit made.  At this point the shop has never actually shown a profit, so it may turn out to be a 5.00 or less per hour job. That is actually more than I have ever made at the shop.  I have a person that is suppose to call me later this evening and if all works out I could possibly have her in to work with me a day or 2 next week or the week after, before I leave for Marietta.

I guess we will find out more tonight, if she calls.

Internet Marketing:

As you know I do some Network Marketing in addition to the bike shop and so far I am not really doing that well with the Network Marketing model. I am really considering doing just the bicycle shop with a website and forgetting all MLM/Network Marketing. I have had some minor success with one called Feeder Matrix and it only costs 6.75 to get started right.

If you get to Moultrie, do give me a buzz and if possible we can meet at the bike shop and talk bikes or whatever.

Hope you all have a great day

Building a List and the Couch to 40K

April 4, 2014,

1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God; protect me from those who rise up against me. 2 Deliver me from evildoers and save me from bloodthirsty men. 3 See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, O LORD. 4 I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight! 5 O LORD God Almighty, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors. "Selah" 6 They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city. 7 See what they spew from their mouths-- they spew out swords from their lips, and they say, "Who can hear us?"

Couch to 40 K Bicycle Training Program

The Couch to 40 K Bicycle Training Program is a Small Groups Ministry of Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia. I have provided this program for the past 4 years in Tifton and this year in Moultrie Georgia. Everyone is welcome to attend, you do not have to be a member of Heritage Church or any church for that matter. There will be some christian fellowship, prayer etc, so be aware of that.

We begin the ride at 3 PM on Sunday Afternoon and attempt to ride a little further each week until we have riders going 26 miles (about 40 KM) each session. Participation has been very good over the years, we have had numerous riders that started with us and have now purchased new bikes and become cyclists. Some of them are actually probably riding more than I do right now.

Most of the riders from previous years went on to participate in at least one Tour de Tifton/Ilse Boyette Memorial Ride. This year the TdT will be held April 12, 2014 and will start and end at the Hunt Park Campus of the Tiftarea YMCA. Come join us if you can.

Internet Marketing

If you have ever done any sort of Internet Marketing you have heard that "the Money is in the list" and for the most part I find that to be true. But I would also want to qualify that. I know that there is more money in a quality list of subscribers that know you, like you and trust you. You need to develop a relationship with the people on the list for it to be a profitable list.  Just having a list of a lot of name and emails is not enough, it may be a start but if the you do not have a relationship with the people on that list you will very likely not make much money with the list. That is the list will not be as responsive.

So the question should be how do you get a responsive list? The answer is pretty simple, but it dose take time and most marketers are not willing to wait and do the work it takes or put in the effort.. There are many ways to build a list such as JV's or Article Marketing.

Probably the easiest way to start is to write an ebook or make a video with some valuable information that you are willing to share. If you play golf you may write an ebook or make a video on how to cut strokes off your golf game, then give it away and all the person on the receiving end does is give you their email and name, now you have a person on your list that knows who you are. If you have given good information for free, this person will also expect good products or services from you. If you meet that expectation then he will trust you and like you and is far more likely to buy from you in the future. Now you have a person on your list that knows you,. likes, and trusts you. You build your list one step and one client at a time.

It is not terribly hard work, but it is work and it takes effort and most people are not willing to put in that effort or learn to do these things and that is why 97% of Internet Marketers never make money.

Bike Shop stuff

With any luck at all I will be able to get that Motor Bike kit bike out of the shop today and be able to get some other work done. Have 2 bikes there that should be pretty easy once I can get to them.

Hope you all have a great day

A little Motivation and some news

April 1, 2014

1 Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long an attacker oppresses me; 2 my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. 3When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. 4 In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? 5 All day long they injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6 They stir up strife, they lurk; they watch my steps, as they have waited for my life. 7For their crime will they escape? In wrath cast down the peoples, O God! 8 You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book? 9 Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call. This I know, thatGod is for me. 10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, 11 in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me? 12 I must perform my vows to you, O God; I will render thank offerings to you. 13 For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

Motivational Quote

“Just know, when you truly want success, you’ll never give up on it. No matter how bad the situation may get.” - Unknown
Bike Shop

Yesterday I was able to get 2 bikes done and managed to get all the cutting, drilling and such done to mount the engine on the cruiser bike. Hoping today I can get everything hooked up and running on that.
Expect to have it done by late this afternoon.

One thing I have found on the Gas Powered bike kits, the "instructions" are a little more than worthless. You can find some videos on youtube where people have tried to fill the gaps and some of them are decent,  If I get anymore request for these to be put on I will double my pirce, but I will also make an instruction video of the entire procedure, even if I do pull the what little hair I have left out putting it together.

Also received a new Jet Black Magnetic trainer which is really nice, even came with a free wheel block. This will be invaluable in helping to "fit" people to their bikes. It can also be used with a regualr bike to use for training indoors when the weather is bad, so can work in the "gym" area.

We have not advertised the Gym much yet, but really want to start getting some people coming in there soon too. Interested in working out? drop by the store we charge 20.00 a month to use our facilities or 100.00 a year if paid in advance. Currently we have a Weight bench, a slant bench and a trainer that you can use your bike with, we have free weights and dumbells.

Back around 1998 I was certified as a Personal Trainer. I still would be but the agency went out of business, so now I am taking some refresher courses and will sit for another agency's test. I should be certifed within a coupple of months and will offer my services at the Gym for an additional fee of course.

Internet Marketing

There are a lot of good quality programs out on the Internet that can make you a lot of money, they have tremendous potential. One thing I have definietly learned though is that if you want to be a success in IM or virtually anything you must be focused and that is something I have struggled with many times over the years. I would get into a program, I would do OK then see something I thought was better and join that then the circle would start again. It was a rather vicious circle and caused me to lose a lot of money.

About 2 wekes ago I decided that I would take the advice of a man that had really made it in Internet Marketing and become more targeted, so I dropped all but two programs that I was promoting. Remarkably I only had one "complaint" from a sponsor. Most of my sponsors didn't even care and probably didn't even know aho I am. That was anothe think that sort of made me aggravated. I don't want someone to sponsor me in a program then just leave me to figure it out by myself. I want a sponsor that takes an interest in me, and I want to be a sponsor that takes an interest in the people that are in their downline.

I intend to be an active sponsor, and I intend to take an interest in the people I work with. No, I won't run your business for you, I won't build your downline for you. I will be there to help you though and I will take an interest in you and what you do, in how we can work together to make you profitable and make the journey enjoyable. So why not join me in one of the two programs I am promoting?

The first is a program that can be used to build any other program or can be used as a business all by itself here is a link to check it out.

The second program only costs 1.75 to join using paypal and has the potential to pay back close to 100,000.00. Here is a link to check this out.

Hope you enjoyed the blog post, please do leave comments and feel free to leave your url also.

March 16, 2014

1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. 2 How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth! 3 He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. 4 He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. "Selah" 5 God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. 8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. 9 The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.

Today is Sunday and the Breathe Run and Family Fun Day at Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia.. With any luck I will be able to get some photos and videos that I can upload here. I did get a few pics and will post later. Unfortunately it rained the entire time of the run and the Breathe Family Walk was cancelled altogether. The pucs are mostly of some of the "kids" doing Karaoke, which was fun to watch. There was also a huge Bouncy House there that a lot of children got to play on, so everyone had lots of fun in spite of the weather. I suppose that a lot of money was raised to help with the various Mega Impact projects and the Breathe Ministry.

I really would have liked the weather to be better, but that is just the way things go sometimes. I do understand that there will be at least 15 ramps built around Moultrie Georgia by the students from UT.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

I am still operating the bicycle repair shop and have received the Gasoline Motor Kit which I will be putting on a bicycle this week. Everything I need is suppose to be in the box except the gas and oil for the engine.

In addition to that I have been trying out some Internet Marketing Programs that might make some extra money too. This one only costs 1.75 to join and with very little effort you will soon be in profit and can make about 100,000.00 for it. Don't know about you but if I could make an extra 5000.00 a month which would be 60.000.00 per year then I would consider the business to be extremely successful and if I made 100,000.00 I would be ecstatic to say the least. why don't you join me in the for only 1.75 just click here for details.

I hope everyone reading this has a wonderful day

Psalm 46 1-11
1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. "Selah" 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her,she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. "Selah" 8Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire. 10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." 11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. "Selah"

Today is Saturday tomorrow Heritage Church in Moultrie Georgia will have the Breathe Run and Family Fun Day. This will also signal the kickoff to a program known as Mega Impact. Mega Impact is a wonderful program that is put on by the church with help from other area churches and the University of Tennesee. Over 100 Students from UT will soon be here in Moultrie for about a week. During the time they are here they will dod a lot of work all over the town. This year their concentration will be on building wheelchair ramps for handicapped people all over town. They will also be working on the Breathe Center and numerous other projects while they are here. Last year they worked on numerous projects all over Moultrie and even painted our house and did a lot of other work.

To say we are grateful for having found Heritage would be a considerable understatement, but we are indeed grateful for having been led to Heritage. The Breathe ministry and he people that operate it along with just so many wonderful people in the church have been such a fantastic blessing to our family.

This year we are facing quite a different challenge. Last year I had a full time job making a good wage, but had a lot of  stress due to medical problems and financial problems and then I lost my job and things looked really bleak, some stuff that was rally good happened though and we were able to come out in better financial shape except that I still did not have a job or an income. I really began promoting the bicycle shop that I had been running part time, but that is still taking more money to operate than is coming in, so I took a part time job which brings in a little money but not nearly enough to survive on. I am not complaining we are all healthy right now and that is a great thing, the amount of stress has been reduced and I feel more like things are looking up.

While we have been able to do a lot over the past few months I can see that we need more income to keep everything going and so have started searching for some business opportunities that I can do from the Internet while I get he bike shop going better. There is a lot of potentially profitable prgrams on the net and I found one that cost only 1.75 to get started.  Yes I said 1.75 that is not a misprint, you can join the program for under 2.00 and the potential is really pretty much endless.  Have you ever wanted to start an Intrenet Marketing business but was afraid that you would lose your investment?  With this program you won't lose the under 2.00 investment. I will make the deal even sweeter, you cna now join the program for FREE. You will need to pay the 1.75 and send me by email proof that you have paid, I will then send you back the 1.75 you paid making your investment 0 dollars. Visit the website link below and join right now:
http://www.feedermatrix.com/?ref=thebicyclenut

Hope you all enjoy the blog posts and if your are reading this far would like to invite you to come ride in the Tour de Tifton/ Isle Boyette Memorial Bicycle Ride on April 12th in Tifton, Georgia

Here are some picturs of things inside the bike shop form this week, these are also posted on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BmcCyclesAndFitness which we would love it if you come by and liked our page.

Have a great day

Out with the Old in with the new

January 16, 2014

Many of you know that I am moving the Bicycle Repair Shop back into Christian Books & More at 1612 1st Avenue SE in Moultrie Georgia. I was in there before Ruth was diagnosed with DCIS. DCIS stands for Ductal Carcinoma in Situ and is a basically a low grade breast cancer. She had to go through 6.5 weeks of radiation and I had to take her back and forth as well as go to work everyday, so I moved the Repair shop to the house. That way I could be closer to my wife if she needed me and I could still fix bikes but I would not be able to be at the store and actually interact with as many of the cyclists. That really was bad since I really love to talk to people and learn from hem and if I can help them, that is even better.

Well she is now finished with treatment and I am no longer working a "job" so I am moving back to the "store" and I have a completely new deal and new setup though it really won't affect the customer much at all. I will actually be renting space in the store and will be the owner of the bicycle shop. I have worked out an arrangement to purchase everything the current owner has and to rent the space. I actually have paid the "rent" ahead 9 months.

Here are some pictures of what it currently looks like at the bike shop, but I think I can make it look a LOT better, I am hoping I can also improve sales since I will now be at the store from 11A-6 P Monday through Friday.

I want to put in some nutritional products like Sport Beans, Hammer Gel and Honey Stingers, and some more lubes and cleaners as well as set up a place where we can professional fit cyclists to their bike.  I also want to build a really nice rack for Bicycle tubes. I have an idea of what I would like, just nee dthe time to build it. I may bring some stuff with me to the shop and build it there, or may do all the board cutting etc at the house and then assemble it at the store.

If you get down this way give me a call at 229-921-0072 and stop by the shop.

If you need to make a litle extra cash and you don't mind investing a little time and a small amount of money- I am talking about under 100.00 to invesst and earn back about 80.00 per hour. I have already started doing thius and have seen some results. Click Here You will be glad you checked it out.

Have a great day, enjoy the pics and watch for the new and improved versio of BMG Cycles Plus- Coming soon

Sam Taking delivery of jis new bike

1/10/14
Here is a bike I built from a frame and deleivered it today. The bike is for a 9 year old racer at Chehaw BMX. It started out as an Avanyt Frame. The frame had been modified several years before, so it was not easy getting the right stuff to build it up. With help from the young rider's father we were able to get parts from Ebay and JR BMX to finish the build. It has Promax head and stem, 24 X 1 1/8" tires and rims, KMC Chain, Man o War Chain tensioners, Carbon fork, clipless pedals, plastic seat and post. Sam was riding it around on the street in front of our house this morning and he really seemed to be very comfortable on the new bike.

I went to get the business license for the "shop" today. I got the application and then went over to have a background check done at the Police Dept. I also filled out a paper for the EIN # and the Georgia Tax #. I am suppose to move in by February 1, 2014 and want to make sure all the legal elemants are taken care of properly before then. Police report was clean, so that is good news, can't remember doing anything illegal.  Should be able to complete the legal aspects Monday. Tuesday I will call the suppliers and get the accounts changed over to my name and set up ACH accounts with the suppliers.

The electrician is supose to be at the shop tomorrow to change some wiring around and add some more light. That should be nice. I will probably take one of the small refirigerators out there, and maybe get a cheap microwave so I can stay there for lunch some days.  May also try to find a small coffee pot for the shop,, that way if any of you come by to visit then we can sit and have a cup of coffee and talk bikes.

I am hoping to get a few new things in really soon. I really want to get the tools and traing to do bike fittings, so that will be a priority, then I also want to put in some more lubes and cleanres, and Nutrition products. In the next few days I also plan to set up a website with lots of products related to bicycles and Health and Fitness, Diet and Nutrition and realted subjects. Ther will be a lot more projects on our website than in our store.

Here is sort of a check list of new products I want to put in::

1. WD 40 Bike  Some of each Product
2. Jelly Belly Sport Beans
3. Park Tools
4. Finish Line Lubes and Cleaners
5. Honey Stinger Nutrition Products
6. White Lightning Lubes and cleaners
7. Bike Fitting Equipment and training.
8. Hammer Nutrition Products

I will likeley build a Counter and purchase a Cash Register as well as add pegbaord wall to he back of the showroom area.

Ther will be a small workout area behind the showroom that people can come workout, sort of like a mini gym or a studio. I have a Treadclimber, a MultiGym, and a weight bench with barbell and dumbells that will be placed in that area. This will be available for anyone but will be especially set up for any Chiseled Faith clients that want to use it.  We will be offering a special price of only 10.00 per month per person or 25.00 for a full 12 weeks. I will probably also put a trainer back there where I can put a bike on to "fit"  the rider. When the trainer is not in use for fitting it can be used to hold a bike as a "stationary" bike. I have several bikes that can be used for that.

You can expect to see many videos coming up on our new youtube channel also, as I have plans for numerous videos, some decsribing the use of various tools that we will be having in the store as well as various lubes and nutritional products. Of course you will see lots of  Tour de Tifton and other ride videos.
Hope you enjoy hem all.

Have a great day

It is a beginning

1/7/14

Today I drove out to the shop to talk to Mr. Mills who owns the building where the Bookstore and the Bike Shop will be. He is going to work on getting the electric so I don't have to walk to he front to turn on the lights, and so I can turn the lights on separate from the other lights in the back half of the building.

I am going to have to get a cash register for the store and will have to put up a wall between the bike shop area and the workout area. That wall will be made of Pegboard so I can dsiplay items for sale on it. I am hoping I can add some Nutrition Products to the stuff that is out there now, some more lubes and cleaners, and  a few other itmes that people may want like water bottle holders.

I am also wanting to add bike fitting to the shop.

I am building a 24" BMX Cruiser bike for a person in Albany Georgia and it is looking great. 1 1/8' tires, very lightweight, the stem and headset came in today so I can finish that up and hopefully get it up to Albany this weekend.

Here is a photo of my 2010 Fuji ACR2 Bike. I also have a Fuji Nevada 1.0 Mountain Bike with front and rear disc brakes- nice bike.

Fuji ACR 2 (Black with red bar tape) Fuji Sunfire 1.0 (Lavender)

Not sure how much I will get to ride with the new shop and stuff going on, but am hoping it is a quite a bit. Once I get everything moved into the new area and arranged as I want it, I will probably ride out there and back quite often.

If you get to Moultrie, look me up. The new address is 1612 2nd Ave SE come to the back ( More Parking) and we are just inside he back door. Come by and we can grab a cup of coffe and maybe a piece of pie at J.Hareys and talk shop.
